The Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan Directorate General of Trade Organizations (Ministry of Commerce) has issued a notification addressed to FPCCI to simplify  the business visa issuance procedures and has authorized two Designated signatories from all trade bodies licensed under section 3 of Trade Organisation Act 2013 to sign the business invitation letter by  the concerned trade body intending to visit Pakistan .This was informed by Dr.  Mirza Ishtiaq Baig Sr. Vice President FPCCI while addressing  the  second meeting  of FPCCI  Standing Committee for Travel & Tour Operator recently.

The meeting was chaired by Convener Mr. Raees Ahmed Siddiqui to discuss the various issued faced by  the Tour operators and travel related businessman.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. FPCCI as special guest . The participants apprised and discussed core issues prevailing in travel & Tour business in the country and finalized various proposal to rescue this sinking industry as well. The online /direct hotel, travel and ground services booking was highlighted which has resulted in disaster of travel & Tour industry for native business men who pay taxes to the Government and general revenue, employment opportunities etc. whereas direct online operators are enjoying  benefits without paying   taxes, absence of their offices in Pakistan and earning millions of rupees  without paying single penny to Government of Pakistan.

The members proposed to submit a comprehensive proposal to the Chairman FBR and other concerned authorities for removal of these obstacles arising in promotion of tourism activities. A proposal is also to be  submitted to Federal   & Provincial Ministers for Tourism  envisaged various suggestions  and offer FPCCI Contribution, participation of private sector  in this task because there is a great  potential of all types of tourism in Pakistan which can bring prosperity in the country within the short span of time.
