A tourist information centre will be set up at a counter of the new Islamabad international airport by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC). The counter will also screen tourism documentaries.

The decision to set up the counter was made during a meeting between Special Adviser to the Prime Minister Sardar Mehtab Abbasi and PTDC Managing Director Ch. Abdul Ghafoor Khan.

Mr. Abbasi instructed concerned officers to allocate space to the PTDC and praised the organisation’s efforts to promote tourism in the country.

He expressed the hope that tourism in Pakistan would flourish with the proper publicity and promotion, and said the government was willing to provide support for this purpose.

Mr. Khan said it was time to promote a tourist-friendly image of Pakistan, which requires cooperation between organisations and the involvement of a public-private partnership.
